Programs for Well-Being

Americans suffer in record numbers; you are not alone. Anxiety, depression, stress, shame, and disconnection are pervasive conditions of 21st century life. If there is good news about human misery, it is that most of our suffering is made up; a product of our minds. We help participants understand how their minds work and how they can detach and manage difficult thoughts and feelings while engaging in deeply held values. Connection and meaning in life are important aspects of well-being. We can help.

Current Living Programs

NCWC’s Current Living Programs are evidenced based services providing acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), compassion focused therapies (CFT), mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR), and ancient contemplative practices into curriculum. These simple, easy, accessible services address a range of life’s hardships, including depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem and shame.

Current Living programs and services provide you with practical skills for handling difficult thoughts and feelings in healthy ways, connect with deeply-held personal values, and take steps toward creating the full, rich and meaningful life that you deserve. Courses integrate the cutting-edge science of mindfulness and self-compassion with the world’s ancient wisdom traditions, resulting in a unique, holistic approach to healing and well-being.

Available services include:

Current Living IOP

An intense 18 day, 3 hour a day, mindfulness based program offered quarterly, including family program, didactic, homework, treatment planning, yoga, meditation instruction, mindfulness skills training. Good for mild / moderate depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, general ‘chaos’ or ‘rigid’ patterns of thought and behavior.

Skills Group

An 8 week 90 minute group format, focused on mindful skills and valued living. Offered regularly. Helps with generalized anxiety, depressed mood, low self-esteem and high stress.

Yin Lab

Once a week hour long practice of Yin cultivation; exploration of mindful, contemplative, non-verbal, right brained, subtle healing practices for well-being. Come explore possibilities.

NADA Hour

Auricular acupuncture helpful to reduce urges to self-medicate, abstain from mood-altering prescription, illicit drugs, and alcohol, and to promote balance and calm.

Yang Camp

Once a week hour long accountability group. Task oriented and motivation building, this service emphasizes doing the next right thing.

Mindful Aftercare Group

This service follows other services and helps clients maintain treatment gains, strengthen skills for well-being, and grow current living.

Individual, Couples, and Family Counseling

We advocate involvement in individual, family, and group therapy to enact change. Psychotherapy helps clients improve insight, remove barriers to growth, and gain skill to strengthen well-being; therapy is a collaborative endeavor between therapist and client, and occurs in the context of safe and trusting relationships. NCWC provides opportunity onsite opportunity to start a therapeutic relationship with a healthcare professional.
