Fear and Loathing 2016
For 20 years, Northwest Counseling & Wellness Center has worked to create a culture of healing. We have addressed fear and resentments through a practice of empathy, compassion, and respect amid a community of caring others. These skills of connection and resilience through community are innate to each of us, and they also must be cultivated and practiced, especially in times of difficulty. These are the skills through which we grow together and combat conditions of intolerance, hate, isolation, and fear.
This political season has stirred strong emotions among members of our country, community, neighborhood, and family. Anger, fear, and loss of control can fuel suspicions and lack of trust, pitting us against one another in a divisive climate. We here at Northwest believe we are stronger in community, regardless of our differences. Our agency will continue to encourage skills of connection and function among all those we encounter, clients and therapists alike. We will continue to advocate for the least, last, and lost among us to the best of our ability.
We at Northwest Counseling & Wellness Center stand against hatred and intolerance, and have faith that the better angels of our nature will guide us forward.
